Christopher L. Jones
Christopher L. Jones (Palo Alto, CA) is Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President of Investment Management for Financial Engines, a leading provider of independent personalized investment advice and portfolio management services in the workplace.
Working closely with cofounder William F. Sharpe, Jones built and led the team of experts in finance, economics, and mathematics that developed the financial methodology for Financial Engines’ personalized investment advice and portfolio management services. Jones has led the Investment Management team at Financial Engines for more than 11 years, after joining the firm as the third employee in 1996.
Jones has frequently appeared in articles for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Newsweek, Fortune, LA Times, SF Chronicle, and other national publications, and regularly speaks at industry conferences and events. Jones holds an MS in business technology, an MS in engineering-economic systems, and a BA in quantitative economics, all from Stanford University.
Jones lives in the Bay Area with his wife and two children and a couple of old Abyssinian cats. When not doing finance stuff, he spends his time traveling, hiking, playing basketball, and dabbling in music composition.
